Smart Resilient Cities TechWeek Workshop 2019
In May 2019, Toi Āria and the Joint Centre for Disaster Research at Massey University ran a workshop in Wellington as part of TechWeekNZ, to gauge relevant cultural and social aspects when applying technologies for disaster risk reduction and smart resilience. A report of the workshop's findings and approach (available here, with an article) noted, inter alia, that most people’s levels of trust were lower than their levels of benefit: they wanted more information to be communicated to them about specific aspects of data collection, use and ownership.
