‘Supporting Change: Exploring the Potential of Speculative Design for Science Research’ is a strategic and systemic design project integrated in a live science programme at AgResearch. Drawing from the field of Sustainability Transitions, the project investigates the role of designers in science research and how design approaches can be utilised within science research organisations to support transformation in New Zealand’s agri-food sector.

Lessons learned from this project are synthesised into a prototype toolkit to aid strategic thought and scenario development to guide present-day actions towards desirable futures.
